How to deal with the drama llama ..

When the drama llama arrives in a group it's never a good thing. Here are a few tips I've come up with on how to deal with it ...

1) Talk to them directly about it, perhaps there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding going on somewhere. No one is perfect ...and I mean no one.

2) If #1 doesn't work talk to a moderator, most groups have several so pick one that you feel comfortable talking to.

3) PLEASE PLEASE think twice before airing problems in a post to the entire group, it's very bad form. There are just certain things that don't need to be announced all over the internet.

Examples: So and so is a total psycho, don't play with them ..etc..etc..

On a side note: using someone's name on here can sometimes be used against you in a court of law. Yes, I'm a paralegal so this is some legal INFORMATION for you all today. So depending on the state that your in, be careful if you choose to do this.

4) And if none of the above works and you choose to still leave the group, then do so with your head held high and with no regrets. Feel free to post a simple good bye, but like #3 mentioned, write it without blasting your business in the post.

-- There are my tips for dealing with a drama llama in your group, take them at face value if you wish ... they are merely suggestions from someone who has been around this website and others for a good while.

Be well & play safe ...

Drama llama is a funny phrase...

but the information here is serious, and seriously good.

This goes beyond not feeding trolls -- also good advice -- and moves into not engaging in the mud-flinging which really pulls the blogosphere down.

Good post. Hope you'll make it sticky.

Good post – applies to blogs too.

I don’t have a drama llama, I have a drama alpaca named . . . Dolly

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Very good advice, not just for groups and blogs, but also life in general.
