Meet & Greet (11/21)

It is time for the last chapter in the ongoing adventures of NastyandtheNuke. This past weekend, we another very successful Meet & Greet here in Idaho Falls. In fact, we are pretty sure it was the most successful event we have had to date. The next morning, Nancy and I sat down to count it out and figured we had about 50 people show up to the event, which was really awesome. The best part of it is that we are still getting new people attending each time. We had one couple drive all the way over from Nampa, ID (they heard from all the way over there that we were a warm and inviting group) and we had another couple come in from Jackson, WY. We love it and hope we can keep our momentum going and continue to have such well-attended events.

As good as the event was for us, there were was one issue/situation that occurred that bothers me a little bit, so I will share it with you. For those that weren't there, we were at The Zone in Idaho Falls and we had the room in the basement reserved for the event because it is out of the way of the rest of the bar so we can be ourselves and enjoy the event (within reason, of course). According to one of the group members that I trust implicitly, just before the event the wait staff were conversing with each other (more like arguing, I guess) about who was going to have the "swingers in the basement". Apparently, they were not exactly quiet about it and some of the patrons that were already in the bar overheard it. So for the rest of the night, I received some reports that a group of regulars that were sitting just at the top of the stairs coming up out of the basement were badmouthing us and making snide comments about us. This is nothing new to any of us and none of it was worth the time it would have taken to say something to them, so we all just went about our business and continued to enjoy the evening. However, I can honestly say that the unprofessionalism of the wait staff does bother me because they should

Our next event is being planned at The Clarion Inn in Pocatello where they have always treated us with decency and respect, so hopefully we won't have to deal with this again. Now I have to decide whether or not to say anything to the manager at The Zone or just let it go and see if it happens again. Any thoughts on the matter?

It was a great meet & greet. Great to see you and Nancy and Red and good convos about what's been going on.

With that said, I would definitely talk to the manager. We certainly give them good business, but the unprofessional behavior of the wait staff is too much. I would at least give them another chance to do right by us, and I think bigdog's approach is the way to go.

It I was manager/owner I would appreciate knowing when staff are not accommodating my guests. They what they are there for. So yes, tell management.

You had an event set up and had reserved the basement to hold this event.. The manager was fine with that and he then has responsibility to provide appropriate service for your guests. There is where the problem is. I would definitely have a visit with the manager and let him know about the turn of events and how the wait staffs' conduct led to an unfriendly and hostile environment for your guests. Be calm but firm in letting him know that his unprofessional staff impacted your event. Where you want to go from there is up to you in so far as telling him you won't be back or expect another chance from him, etc.
If any of my employees is rude or otherwise casts my business in an unfavorable light; they are held accountable up to and including being terminated.
Good luck to you;
